Leave a lasting mark on the worship life of our church.
As part of the ongoing sanctuary renewal at Hope Lutheran Church, we are inviting members, families, alumni, and friends of the congregation to participate in a special hymnal dedication and sponsorship program.
For generations, hymnals have been an important part of our worship life. They have guided our singing, supported the liturgy, and accompanied countless baptisms, confirmations, weddings, funerals, and ordinary Sundays gathered around God’s Word.
As we refresh our sanctuary and prepare to welcome a new pastor, Hope Lutheran Church is replacing its pew hymnals with the Lutheran Service Book, the current hymnal of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.
Many of our current hymnals have served faithfully for decades. Some remain in good condition, while others have reached the end of their useful life after years of regular use. Congregation members may have noticed books that have required repair, reinforcement, or replacement over the years. While a number of our existing hymnals may continue serving elsewhere through donation or distribution, many are showing the wear expected of books that have been used regularly for more than a generation.
In addition to physical condition, the current hymnal was first introduced in 1989. While it has served the congregation well, the Lutheran Service Book reflects the current worship resources of the LCMS and will better align our worship materials with those used throughout the Synod today.
Project Status
The congregation has committed to moving forward with the purchase of the new hymnals as part of the sanctuary renewal effort. Rather than waiting until all funds are raised, the church is making this investment now so the new hymnals can be placed into service as soon as possible.
Contributions received through this program will help offset the cost of the hymnals and related worship resources while providing members and families an opportunity to leave a lasting contribution to the worship life of Hope Lutheran Church.
